a lull; a lullaby

listen: bishop allen & the broken string
mood: familiar, nevertheless

days are following days that follow days

new patterns seep in, gradual as stasis

i am hopeful without clutching at hopes

but i think a sea-change is coming

this afternoon, it snowed.

dear julia,
in answer to your question: canada is uniquely autumnal for reasons including, but not limited to, the way that it slowly lets go of its blushing leaves. i wrote a poem about how the leaves here, & how rather than turning the majestic colours of home, they tend to just turn brown & then fall. that being said, there are a few yellow-bellied trees. perhaps, since it is still quite warm here (comparatively), i can hope for more glorious transformations still to come.
i am thoroughly enjoying the blogs you linked me to, too - thank you.
i don't know how to be friends with people on this thing yet, but, will you be friends with me?
bisous,
harriet
